“Merlini” was born in 1900 when Alessandro Merlini with his sons Amedeo, Guido, Giuseppe known as “Bepi” and Giovanni known as “Bruno” began the threshing business for third parties with a small workshop for the repair of their own equipment.

Around 1955 Guido Merlini together with his son Alessandro began to build the first agricultural equipment, mostly animal-powered. In 1959 Guido passed away prematurely, and in 1962 his son Alessandro together with his brothers Raffaello, Alberto and Luciano founded "A. Merlini & F.lli" starting the construction of new agricultural machinery such as haystacks, hay loaders, comb rakes and with Over the years, sewage tankers, manure spreaders, trailers and self-loading forage trailers came into production.

The production of agricultural machinery always remained alongside the original threshing activity for third parties until 1982 when the company changed its name to "Costruzioni Meccaniche F.lli Merlini snc".

In 1992, the activity of building agricultural machinery was joined by the activity of outfitting trucks with the construction of tipper and fixed bodies for all brands of trucks on the market.

As early as 1978, "F.lli Merlini" began to be present in foreign markets, exporting its machinery first to France and then to Spain, increasing its exports over the years. Since 2000 the export activity began to increase with the acquisition of importers in Northern Europe, Eastern Europe and the Mediterranean countries.

At the end of 2009 the business was taken over by Luciano's children (Andrea and Elena) and Alessandro's nephew (Marco) changing the company name to "F.lli Merlini snc di Merlini Andrea, Elena, Marco" trying to carry on the business activity with passion, building robust and suitable machines to meet the needs of various agricultural companies (for the agricultural sector) and for construction and transport companies (for the industrial vehicle preparation sector).

The new company has expanded its sales network by acquiring new resellers in countries such as Australia, Canada, Ecuador and China, and is always on the lookout for new emerging markets.
